Wexters! The Newest Hazard For Drivers

There’s a new hazard for drivers to watch out for that are more dangerous than deer or cows on the road, kids on bikes, runaway shopping carts or the massive pot holes that we see all over the place. These new hazards are becoming more prevalent in our streets and parking lots, multiplying in numbers almost daily, and are a serious threat to driving safety. Most assuredly, beside the increased dangers of accidents, injury and death by these new creatures, they will no doubt create an increase in Nevada auto insurance rates.

When trying to decide whether you should file an insurance claim or pay for it out of pocket, the answer is not always cut and dry. To make an accurate decision, you would need a working crystal ball that can see the next five years into the future. Situations also vary depending on the company and state you are in. Here in Nevada, home insurance rates generally don’t increase significantly with the first claim.
Risk is inherent to any type of business, and many businesses use a risk management strategy to reduce or better manage risk. Having an appropriate Nevada commercial insurance policy and encouraging a culture of safety compliance and zero tolerance for risky situations might be some effective strategies to consider.

How To Find The Best Homeowner Insurance Company

Posted: 4/30/2012 12:00:00 AM
In this day and age with so many disasters happening throughout our country, it is more important than ever to find the right homeowner insurance to make sure that your most valuable asset, your property, is suffiently covered in case of a loss. There many companies in this depressed economy who are promising to save the consumer money that they tend to cut some important coverages to get the price down. Especially in a state where property values have dropped significantly like here in Nevada, home insurance rates seem to be covering replacement costs that are much higher than the property values. Homeowners need to be careful that there aren't any holes in their policy that they regret later.
As Director of Nevada for the National Independent Insurance Agency, our agency owner, Mike Menath, is among 1,000 agents and brokers in Washington D.C. this week to discuss insurance issues and challenges with our representatives. As a representative of the Silver State, Mike will be lobbying for reform in personal lines, health and Nevada Commercial Insurance.

Everyone complains about their auto insurance rates, no matter what state they are in. I was interested to find the states with the highest and lowest auto insurance rates, and a don’t see any pattern. For those of us in Nevada, auto insurance rates rank 39th highest, so thankfully we’re at the lower end. Our neighbors next door in California aren’t so lucky, ranking 6th in the country.
